“The Value of a Job in Haiti…”

Sometimes, it’s hard to get people “back to work” in the States. With so many businesses closing during Covid, it was tough to get people to come back to work. When we would fly back to the States, we would see people holding up signs saying “I need money for food,” and they would be standing in front of a store or restaurant with a sign in the window that read “Help Wanted!”

In Haiti, “your job is your life!” A Haitian would never want to take a job from someone else unless he had to. We have over 350 people working for us at our Love A Child Compound and more working at our office in Petionville. We have school teachers, construction workers, medical professionals, etc. Each time we hire a Haitian, he or she feeds at least 10 people in their family! (A Haitian might even kill someone for trying to take their job away! It is life or death!!!)

We love our workers! We feed all of these workers three times a day, and that number doesn’t even include the children at our Orphanage! It is tough doing this now since gangs are on the streets, but with God’s help, He provides! Haitians are proud people who want a “hand up” more than a “hand out,” because they want that job for a lifetime! Thank you, partners, who pray for us every day. Haiti is not an easy country to work in, but it is where God has called us.
