We may think “just because the Lord has made us a promise” that the way to that promise would be easy. But “there will always be giants in the land.” From the story of Moses sending out spies to “check out” the promised land to the story of young David facing the giant Goliath, face to face… There will always be “giants.”

Years ago, when we were doing most of our work in the mountains, we began looking for a piece of land that would be our central “home.” We knew we would need “a lot of land,” because we already knew what we would depend on the land. We had the vision and the faith. What could possibly stop us? Even though God had shown us how He would bless us with land in Haiti, we never counted on the “giants,” or “the giant.” After all, why would anyone attack anything that is good, or anything that would help the poor?

Maybe God has promised you something and now, everything has come to a halt! Was it God’s will? Now, you may begin to wonder if God really wanted you to have it? As long as there are “giants” you will doubt God’s will, but Caleb said, “Let us go up at once, and possess the land. For we are well able to overcome it.” (Num. 12:30)

Don’t ever think that “just because God promised you something,” or “you had a dream from God,” or “you read a scripture and it spoke to your heart,” that you won’t have any battles to fight, or any giants to kill.

There will always be giants… but with God, you are well able to overtake them! You need to write this down in your Bible. Have a great day!
