“Twins, Twins, and More Twins!”

We have three sets of twins here at our Love A Child Children’s Home! Imagine!!!! Mika and Mikalange are twelve (going on sixteen, ha!). They are sweet little girls but completely opposite!!! One is quiet and the other… “honery!” Both are hard-working and do well in school.

Daniella and Daniel came to us about 15 years ago. Their mother was expecting triplets. It was during a time when, again, when there was violence in Haiti. Their mother had gone to the General Hospital to give birth and someone stood in front of the hospital with a gun and told her to leave. She went back to her small home and gave birth and died while delivering the third child. We took Daniel and Daniella in to raise (Daniel was so small when they brought to us, he looked like a little rat!). Daniella is shy but she sings very well.

“David and Davidson…” I shared the story of Davidson a few days ago. Both are 18 now and doing well in school. They had gotten a little “lazy” at the end of the school term, so I decided to send them back to the mountains where they came from to stay with some relatives for a “come to Jesus seminar.”

They learned how to carry buckets of water from the river, cook food over a small fire, and sleep on a mat on the ground. After more than two months, we brought them back. They had forgotten what it was like to flush a toilet and sleep in a bed. They have been “working really well” since they came back (tough love). Both boys do really well in school. Davidson also plays the keyboard in our children’s service at night.

We love all the kids, but, it takes a lot of God’s wisdom and patience to raise this many with so many different personalities. Kids love “poppie” and “mom is tough!” ha! Sherry

P.S. Notice that the names of each set of twins have “similar sounding names.” That was not my idea. The Department here in Haiti who issues birth certificates wants “twins names” to “sound similar.” I had named the twin boys, David and Jonathan, but when they got their birth certificates, the powers that be, changed “David to Davidson!”
