Upcoming Sustainable Agriculture Training…

Imagine that someone, who you don’t even know, has made a donation for you to get to go to the upcoming sustainable agriculture training class at Love A Child’s Agricultural Training Center. It would be life-changing! Instead of always wondering where the next meal would come from for your family, you are being given the chance to go to the ATC school and learn new skills, “farming God’s way,” to create your own reliable, nutritious garden for your family. During the 3-week course, you would learn things like preparing the soil and amending it for the conditions found in Haiti, making organic compost, organic fertilizers, and natural insecticides. How to prepare the ground, plant the seeds, water them properly using very little water, and finally how to harvest, and then save enough seeds from the “first fruits” for the next planting season. This program fills empty bellies and restores dignity.

We are now opening registration again for our next class, planned for September 8th through September 28th. This training is perfect for anyone wanting to learn more than just the basics of sustainable gardening practices pertinent to Haiti. It is designed for a family member or community leaders to come learn sustainable gardening methods to benefit many families in having their own productive, nutritious gardens to provide food and even have produce to sell in local markets.

Students must be sponsored by an organization working in development or relief in Haiti. They come for three weeks to live at the ATC and learn sustainable methods to take back to their villages and begin transferring knowledge to benefit other families there. Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students per class. You can register a student, or you can donate to help fund scholarships to allow poor Haitians to come to the class.
