This morning we were supposed to have been in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, at the hospital with Dieuferly, for his club feet prep and operation. Sad, to say we are still here in Haiti due to the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. The border is closed, and all flights to the Dominican Republic are canceled. We have no idea how long this may last.

There is an unusual “spooky calm” here. Very few people are on the streets; everyone is staying home. The assassins (those behind the assassination were paid for the hit) and have been given the summons to appear at the courthouse today at 11:30 AM to answer questions. Their names have appeared on the front page of the newspaper here.

“Bar-B-Q,” the head of the G9 notorious gang, and other gangs threatened that if they do not show up, then they will come after them and their families and all light skin Haitian businesspeople. They will burn, kill, and destroy. I really don’t know if they have the money and organization enough to do this.

Today is an important day in Haiti. Please pray for Haiti.
