Update on abused child left at the gate: 1-6-18 7:15 PM

Our sweet little abandoned toddler (no name) is doing better. Social Services was closed due to a holiday and should open this week. We have to take him to get him registered and ask if we can keep him. So far, he hasn’t tried to talk or make any sounds. He has a stomach ache because the doctor gave him worm medicine, which should “clean him out.” I am sure if we can keep him, (which we want to), that he will be fine. Love is the greatest healer there is, and he is surrounded by love!

On a sad note, Kaeli, our missionary, gave him a piece of bread and she watched him as he went and “hid his bread” under his pillow. We have seen this many times in poor orphanages where children are starved and they “hide” their food.

It is best if we can keep him in our Love A Child Children’s Home. We have a clinic, a beautiful home and lots of love. People have asked about “Haitian Adoptions.” These are difficult, as the attorneys will charge you much more than you can imagine, at least $20,000 to $25,000 and they take several years of pure aggravation, going back and forth from the States to Haiti. In the last five years, the restrictions and complications of Haitian adoptions have become very difficult! It is best if an orphan child can be placed in a loving Christian orphanage, and there are some very good ones here in Haiti. We do not adopt, although several of our orphan children have our last name. We want them to get an education, serve Jesus, and make Haiti a better place! Thank you, partners, for your love and concern! Sherry
