Alvin Jonsely's Brain Surgery

Update on Alvin Jonsely’s Brain Surgery: 3-2-18 8:00 AM

Alvin Jonsely has had two surgeries. The first one took out part of the tumor around the eye. At that time, they were able to place the eye back into the socket. He cannot see with that eye, but the doctors expect that in time, it will go back to “normal” size and the redness will go away. He can move that “bad eye” with the good one, so that’s wonderful.

The second surgery removed a large portion of the remaining tumor. The surgeon was unable to remove all of it because it might damage the brain or bring on the loss of the good eye. Alvin will be recovering for 4-6 weeks. During that time, the doctors will do tests and meet to decide the next plan. Treatment will include radiation and possibly chemotherapy to reduce the size of the remaining tumor. That will take six weeks. This young boy and his mother are so, so sweet!!! Let’s take time each day to pray for complete healing for Alvin Jonsely. Thank you, Sherry
