HAITI UPDATE: Things are worse today than even yesterday. Please read my post from yesterday, if you haven’t yet. Last night, in some locations, there was shooting throughout the night, burning buildings, roadblocks, and the list goes on. I just read that in downtown and other areas, the thugs are going on their motorcycles and setting fire to the little vendor stands along the road, that are trying to make a living. It’s not safe to be on the road today.
UPDATED NEWS: We had our new missionaries, Doug and Jessica from Georgia, fly through the Dominican Republic in order to enter Haiti across the border this morning. We live about 10 miles from the border to the Dominican Republic. Our driver, Philemond, said they had four major roadblocks, burning tires and rocks across the road, big trees blocking the road, and piles of dirt. When they saw the name Love A Child on the side of the van, they cleared the road for us!! Praise the Lord! Welcome to Haiti, Doug and Jessica! We need your help! We love you!
Haitian Customs is still closed, with no end in sight. We are paying over $400 a day in late fees! Please pray that we can get our containers of food out of Customs soon. Haiti is starving to death… the poor are suffering the most, especially the children. Bobby
