Baby Elijah has been in the Haitian Hospital Bernard Mevs for about a week suffering with seizures. He is on the list for a hydrocephalus operation, with 50 other babies – and his is scheduled for Oct 25th. Our doctor has said that he cannot wait that long because his seizures are causing brain damage. We found a Haitian Neurologist who will do the surgery in another hospital, but we will have to pay all the fees. This also depends on whether we can get a shunt for Baby Elijah.

We are in desperate need of a pediatric shunt – a small contoured, low or medium pressure ventriculoperitoneal shunt.

Then we could arrange to fly it here to Haiti, and they could do the surgery this week.
