This is young boy is Colin. You may remember his story. When he first came to our Love A Child Children’s Home, he had a severely burned hand. His father, a Voodoo man, got very angry when Colin took the last handful of food from the pot. His father grabbed his hand and held it in the hot charcoal fire to teach him a lesson. When we first saw Colin, we bandaged his burned hand, but his family did not take care of it. We contacted the Department of Social Services and filed papers to adopt him. When Colin first arrived, his hand was in terrible shape, and he was afraid to take food to eat. His Love A Child family showed him lots of love, and soon Colin started smiling and now he loves mealtime. He enjoys playing with his brothers, going to school and learning to read and write.
