This young man is Dieuferly d’Or who has lived in our Love A Child Children’s Home since he was 4-years-old. We discovered this young boy in the mountain village of Covant. We were holding a Mobile Medical Clinic when we saw this sweet boy with his mother and very large family. He was very malnourished and had been born with bilateral clubfeet and couldn’t walk. We brought him to our children’s home, and we started feeding him and looked for doctors to operate on his feet. He underwent excruciatingly painful surgeries over several years that included a wheel that had to be turned each day to straighten his feet.

Dieuferly is now 20-years-old and can walk and run without pain. He often travels into the mountains to speak with other poor children about believing in Christ as he tells them about his story. He often tells these poor children, about going to school and praising the Lord, and how it changed and even saved his life.

He is studying photography and videography here in Haiti. He is such a bright young man. He has been doing some of the photography for Love A Child as he learns his new skills. He is also doing a great job, helping our film crew as we travel into the mountains for our Mobile Medical Clinics. We hope that he will be able to continue his education and his work as for what he now says is his passion. We can’t wait to see how the Lord will use his life.
