Update on Djonsly

I’m sorry I don’t have any recent pictures of Djonsly, the young teenager whom we have been trying to get a Visa for. We actually did get Djonsly and his mother their Visa with the help of a great attorney, the help of a Congressman’s office, and the blessings of the Lord. But, while waiting for the Visa, Djonsly developed an infection on his lung. He had to go to a Hospital near Croix des Bouquets for medical help with his lung. A doctor put in a drainage tube and then left for his house.

Unfortunately, the doctor is on the “other side of the gangs” who are fighting in the streets and he is “the only doctor who can take the tube out,” as I have been told this morning. So, Djonsly is waiting until the gangs stop fighting and until his doctor comes back.

On another note, Pastor Mark Ostrander and his construction team flew into the Dominican Republic, and when they came across the Border it was “eery.” No one there! They all arrived safely. They have several projects here that they will be working on.

Haiti is practically in “lock-down” due to the gangs, but in spite of this, we have been able to get food to our regular locations, and to our schools, before the worst part hit. The best thing you can do for us now is to pray! Pray that the Lord will send in His army to protect us and that somehow, someone will get these gangs under control. No one is moving around the gang areas, although other parts of Haiti are fine.

We have complete trust in the Lord! Thank you, dear partners and friends. God bless you.

PS: The good news is that God has sent special Haitian military men to come and be here with us. They patrol our Love A Child compound… What a blessing!
