I have never met two people with more Faith in God than Madamn Alcin and her son Djonsly. At the age of 13, he was brought to our Love A Child Clinic by his mother, with his eyeball hanging out of its socket.

She had gone to many doctors, but he was always turned away… God spoke to her and told her to go to Love A Child. Our doctors took time and examined him, but they could do nothing. But though a contact of ours, we found a Hospital in the States that was the answer to our prayers. This Hospital took care of Djonsly and he had several major surgeries. We helped to sponsor an apartment near the Hospital, so Djonsly could go back and forth for his appointments. When his Visa was up, there was “one more surgery left to be done.” Many Haitians told Madamn Alcin, “Just keep him there in the States. Don’t send him back, you are waiting on another surgery…”

But, Madamn Alcin said, “I promised God and Madamn Sherry we would return when his Visa was up.” And they did. Djonsly became very sick and could not stand up or eat. So, we had to send our ambulance to get him and his mother, through gang territory, to bring him here to Love A Child. Dr. Barthelemy realized that Djonsly had pneumonia, and he took good care of him, as did everyone else!!!

In the meantime, we had a lot to do to try and get another Visa for Djonsly… things we had never had to go through before, and no “Visa appointments” at the Embassy. Finally, the Lord sent someone our way to give us advice and we have been working hard to do this. We had to get a Congressman to intervene. It is a long story, but now we have a “case number” for Djonsly. Djonsly and his mother are here with us, waiting on that appointment for his Visa… and if so, we need to get him to the States, ASAP.

With prayer and faith in God, “all things are possible!” What a remarkable mother and young man! We are better people, just though meeting them!!! Thank you all for your prayers.
