Update on George

When Georges was only one week old, he was brought to our Love A Child Orphanage. His mother, Elmice Maricile, had planned to give birth at a local hospital and abandon him there. She ended up giving birth during Hurricane Georges in September of 1989. Georges and his sister Stephanie came to live at the orphanage a week later. This is the only home Georges knows, and he is growing up to be a fine young man. He works in our Kingdom Connection Food Warehouse driving the forklift.

He is now attending a training school at HAYTRAC (Haytian Tractor Equipment Co.), a citizen company engaged in the community since 1950 with the focus of reconstruction, growth, and development of Haiti. Georges can drive “heavy-equipment” machines like front-end loaders, backhoes, and others, but we wanted him to get his Diploma from HAYTRAC. They are teaching him how to take care of this equipment, how to fix things that break and maintain heavy equipment. He will graduate in a couple of weeks. Then, he can go on to learn something else. With these degrees, he can get a job anywhere!!! We are so proud of Georges, and he will be a great asset to his country in the future. Georges is hard working, very respectful, plays the keyboard and drums, and is a great kid!! Thank you, partners, for helping us raise a wonderful son of Haiti. Bobby and Sherry
