Jackson… He actually “found us” when we were in the mountains of Savaan Pit (pronounced peet), Haiti. As soon as we arrived (for a Mobile Clinic), Jackson’s uncle came to see us with this little boy with a huge belly! This little boy’s belly was so swollen, full of water, and he was so heavy you could hardly lift him! I had seen a lot of children with bloated bellies but his was the worst we had ever seen!! He had such severe malnutrition!!!
He began crying and begged us to “take him home,” so when we finished the Mobile Clinic and left the mountains, Jackson went with us! In Haiti, we found out that he had to be on dialysis each night and Haiti did not have any way that we could do this… but, thank the Lord, one of our partners sponsored a portable dialysis machine!! We had to have a nurse to be with Jackson each night for dialysis, from 7:00 p.m. to about 7:00 a.m.! We found better doctors for Jackson in the Dominican Republic.
Jackson is very “short,” for his age, 17, due to his condition, but he is very intelligent and makes good grades in school. Jackson’s dream is to be a doctor! Please remember him in your prayers! He is not doing good and needs a miracle!! Be looking for an update report this evening from Jesse!
