Update on Jasson

We want to thank the Lord for the “good report” that Jasson (Jackson) got today! Tuesday, our driver Philimond drove Jasson across the border of Haiti into the Dominican Republic for some more tests.

As many of you know, Jasson had developed severe “Kwashiorkor Malnutrition” when we found him in the mountains of Savaan Pit, during a Mobile Clinic. He was so heavy because he was merely “bones and water.”

The Kwashiorkor Malnutrition had affected his kidneys. He was so bad that we had to find a specialist in the Dominican Republic for him. Jesse Ostrander, who now works with us here in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic, found some wonderful doctors for Jasson. They had put him on a strict “low protein” diet and he was doing “fairly well.”

But yesterday, he had blood tests on the way to the Capital in the Dominican Republic. The doctors were “extremely pleased” with the results! They were “sure” they would have to begin dialysis on him, but now, they can wait another month and check him again.

While Jasson was in the Dominican Republic he also had more vaccinations, and several teeth filled. The doctors want to make sure his health is in the best condition possible.

Our ladies here at our Orphanage and many others, make sure Jasson stays on his low protein diet. We are so happy with these results! We want to thank the Lord and we want to thank our partners who have been helping with Jasson’s medical needs. We know that with God “all things are possible!” So, this is a “praise report” to thank the Lord for this good report on Jasson’s health! Let’s keep on praying!

God bless you.
