As many of you may know, Lionel has been in the Dominican Republic for over a month. He underwent a severe operation on his left hand and fingers which were “melted together.” When Lionel was young, his father got angry at him, held his hand in boiling water, and threw him out on the street. (His father was deeply involved in Voodoo.)

We got a phone call asking us to take him in. He did have one surgery on his hand in Haiti, which did not go well. Jesse Ostrander, who works with us, spent much time finding “the right surgeon” in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Herran. She had to take skin from his stomach to “re-make his fingers!”

Nurse Tuta has been caring for him. He may be able to come back to Haiti on Friday. He will be fitted for a special glove that will keep compression on his fingers, but still allow them to move for therapy. We have so many people to thank for this… Jesse Ostrander, Lionel’s doctor and nurses, and a special family who sponsored the operation and made this possible.

Most of all, all “Glory” to the wonderful Great Physician, whose name is Jesus! Thank you for “changing another life!!!”
