Update Miliana

Update on Miliana: 6-24-18 7:15 PM

You may remember Miliana Exume from the village of Madamn Bauje. When we first found her, she was sitting in the dirt, just chewing on her arm. She was pitiful, she had a horrible skin infection, was severely malnourished, and her stepmother abused her. Miliana didn’t cry or even look up at us because she was so weak. We could not leave her in that village, so we brought her to our Love A Child Children’s Home. We tried to get her medical care here in Haiti, but the doctors we took her to couldn’t figure out what her condition was, and could do nothing for her. She has traveled to the US several times to see a special dermatologist, Dr. Cairns, who is helping with her skin condition. She was diagnosed with Rothmund-Thomson Syndrome, which is pigmented skin condition with sores on her hands, feet, elbows and no eyebrows. Her future could lead to bone cancer or leukemia. We will believe in God! Miliana returned to Haiti doing much better. Today, she is in school at Love A Child and living in our children’s home with a “real family” that loves her. Mother Theresa said, “Do something small, with great love.” Bobby and Sherry
