We just returned from a visit to our new school in L’Artibonite, the village of L’Estère. This Love A Child School is absolutely beautiful. Though this area is very poor, they have a “first-class school,” and everyone is so thankful, especially the parents. Eliaser, our head painter, did a great job, along with two of our orphan boys, Jean Edwouard, Joseph, and many others. We also had Kaeli Fletcher, Joel Trimble, and our driver Philemon with us. We had a Feeding Program for all the children in this village. It takes ten huge cooking pots each day just to cook for the children, but it is greatly needed. These children are hungry, fragile and many have severe malnutrition. Nelio Barthelemy, our Haitian Director, who was born here, initiated the program.
