I think Shalken has become “Americanized” in less than two weeks!! This doesn’t look like the sad little boy with no hope in his heart, battling horrible tumors. He still has the tumors, but also has the best “host family” God could give a little boy—Beth Nolan and her husband and children! Shalken still has many tests to go through and must be placed on a “treatment plan” for his tumors, but he now has “hope,” and as the Haitians say, “Hope makes us live!” Thank you to Beth and her wonderful family!
