We are still praying and believing that a good Dermatologist will accept Shalken under his care to see what can be done for him. This precious little boy has Calcinosis, which causes “huge tumors” all over his body, and they are extremely painful. This is the email I received from Barbara MacMannis, our Medical Director this morning. It will make you cry. Sherry

“Each month I see Shalken come to my office. He knows to smile for the camera, but last month he seemed weary. He was sick and tired with the journey of the day. I remember when he told me he felt good and was happy to be alive, but now I wondered if he still feels that way. His little sister tries to play with him and get his attention, but Shalken, although tolerant is conspicuously feeling weak, and in pain from his malady. Shalken has swollen painful joints in every joint from his fingers to his hips. He also misses the school he loves because he can no longer stand at the board to do his lessons.
