In October of 2013, Haiti’s Department of Social Services came to our Love A Child Children’s Home with another child. The sweet, young boy was five-years-old and named Stephano. His mother was very young and in prison. We learned not long ago that Stephano’s mother grew up in an orphanage run by a Haitian pastor. This pastor was evil and abusive, and we think he is Stephano’s father. The Haitian pastor has now been arrested and is no longer a threat to those living in the orphanage. We believe Stephano’s mother’s name is Stephanie, and she was about 15-years-old when he was born. It is such a sad story because this poor girl could not take care of herself; she was unstable and spent time in prison. This young mother was unable to care for her baby, and Haiti’s Department of Social Services contacted Love A Child about taking Stephano into our large family. Now, Stephano is growing up in a loving Christian home, and he loves his family. He enjoys playing with his brothers and sisters, and he is doing well. Our Love A Child Children’s Home is so much more than shelter for these orphans. “Love Is Something You Do.” Thank you, partners, for helping to save this young boy’s life. God bless you.
