Poul Mirak Chicken School

Update on the Poul Mirak Chicken School: 6-28-18 12:20 PM

Here is a message from Rad Hazelip about our Poul Mirak chicken school.

Earlier this year, as you may know, we conducted our first Poul Mirak chicken school. We had seven students registered from different areas around Haiti. They came and stayed at our ATC bunkhouse while they studied and learned about chickens for a week. Some of you sponsored some of these students. We will be having our second chicken school coming up July 22-28 with eight students already registered.

This morning I got the following wonderful email from the sponsors of three students in our first class that read: “How are you? We just want to let you know how our project is going after our students returned from your chicken school. The chickens have been a life changer! The children in the village are now getting 40-plus eggs a day, and they have even traded some of the eggs for bread in town. Soon we will get roosters.” (Here is a video you may enjoy.) https://www.facebook.com/100011697454686/posts/587949404938303/

One of the initial objectives for the sponsors (Mike Welch and the World Poultry Foundation) of the Poul Mirak project was to provide a place to teach about raising chickens and providing a ready source of meat protein for the local diets. When you help support sustainability projects like our chicken school or our agricultural training schools, you are helping to provide nutritious, life-changing food for generations to come. God will bless you for your giving.
