This sweet young girl is Yolanda Estima Burnette. She is another one of our Haitian children who we found in the remote mountain village of Covant. Her mother, Marie Elmise Hermulus, died from childbirth fever after Yolanda’s birth, which happens to many mothers here in Haiti. Yolanda was born into a family of six other children. Her father, Jean Estima, was unable to care for such a large family and a new baby. Yolanda came to our Love A Child Children’s Home shortly after her birth and was welcomed by her new family with lots of love and plenty of nutritious food. The children’s home is the only home she has ever known. She has been with us for 12 years now, and she loves to play dress-up with her sisters and dancing too. Yolanda is doing very well in school and is growing up to be a delightful little girl.
