Update from Rad Hazelip – 06-14-17

Rad Hazelip is the “papa” of our sustainability projects and he is in Haiti working with the Haitians this week. Here is an update from Rad:
There was a big harvest from our gardens today. This morning Wilner and the staff harvested many delicious foods from our gardens. Look at these two big sacks of crisp and cool cucumbers, tender young okra and delicious sweet bananas. In the ATC our bananas grow fast, tall and sweet because we inter-plant the banana trees with sweet potatoes and peas. The three plants work together to improve the conditions for each other. The sweet potatoes shade the soil and help preserve moisture, while the peas give nitrogen into the soil. We teach these methods in our Agricultural Training Center. Look at the result of this sustainable gardening method. When you help the Haitians learn how to work with their soil better, you can see how God starts the cycle of Blessing. Thank you partners.” Rad Hazelip
