This young man is incredible! He has been crippled in his legs since he was a baby. He came to stay with us right after the earthquake of 2010 when the orphanage where he was living crumpled.

Afterward, people came to pick up the rest of the children, but no one picked up Richard, so we let him stay. Richard developed an incredible talent for playing the keyboard, but he also plays drums and bass. But the keyboard is “his” gift! He connects special sounds via the internet, and it sounds incredible!  Richard plays during the children’s service each night. Our own children take turns leading the singing and singing “specials!” Michael is on the drums, and usually, Raphael is on the bass (and usually, it is way too loud!! Ha!)

He finished school, and now he is in university studying “Administration and Economics.” Richard is easy-going and sweet! He has a special wheelchair donated by one of our friends in the States before he went to be with the Lord. So, Richard can get to church to play via his three-wheeler.

Richard is always – always smiling. He has never felt sorry for himself but considers that he is “blessed indeed!” We love Richard, but “please God, help Raphael to find the “low volume” on the base!”
