Waiting for a Miracle

In the “extremely poor,” village of mud huts and hungry children, little Maniolita spends her days alone in her “mud and stick” room in a tiny hut. Her mother, Madamn Altidor, works in the streets, or sometimes the market, selling anything she can.

On many days, there is not enough food so the children drink “salt water.” Despite this, Maniolita stays hopeful that things will be better. She gets so happy when she hears the words, “The Tipanou” is coming! (Tipanou is the Feed My Starving Children food.) All Haitians say, “Espwa fe viv,” which means “Hope makes us live!” Right now, the gangs are blocking many roads making it difficult to get food to poor areas, but with the Lord’s help, it can be done.
