Recently, we wrote about the need to replace the 11-year-old original water pump, which had failed and fallen into the bottom of the well that gives water to the Miracle Village Family Gardens and the Agricultural Training Center (ATC). We were finally able to get the new replacement pump (a larger 10HP pump that will provide even more water flow!) delivered to Haiti.
Water is used throughout the Bible to demonstrate God’s power, as with His judgment by the flood of Noah, the power of giving to the poor by a cup of water, and as Jesus is the “living water,” even nourishment for our souls.
Having access to good, reliable water is essential for man, animals, and plants.
This week, the men have been busy installing the larger replacement pump. The saying that “Water gives Life” is very evident when you see the jubilation that all the gardeners and the ATC staff had when they finally got the new pump.
Now, the family gardens, the ATC demonstration gardens, the edible plant nursery, and all the plants growing in our shade houses can have the water they need without hand-carrying buckets of water. Everyone is very happy that water will soon flow again.
Thank you to all of you who support our “development for Sustainability” projects that give Haitians new skills for sustaining themselves.
God bless you.
