We All Have Enemies…

If anyone ever tells you they never had an enemy, they are lying! Everyone has an enemy.

Maybe they don’t know it, but someone is watching, who is jealous! The best way to handle an enemy is through prayer! King David had an enemy named King Saul for many years. But David prayed that God would deliver him from his enemies… and God did! King Saul was slain, but not at the hands of David… Saul was slain in battle.

David said, “I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies…” PS. 22:4

“In my distress, I called upon the Lord, and cried to the Lord my God; and He did hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry did enter into His ears…” PS. 22:7

When David got his mind off his enemies and began thinking about the Lord, and how good He was, God delivered David! When Bobby and I inherited this big piece of land where we are in Haiti now, it was so so ugly! There were no trees, no wells, no water, no birds flying around… nothing but trees with big huge thorns! There were thorns in our boots when we walked… The “Flying Satan” plants were all around us. But, the biggest problem was, after a man had given us the land, and after we spent years clearing the land, planting trees, and building projects, he became jealous! His jealousy drove him almost insane! He was our major enemy!

The hardest thing I have ever done was to “pray for our enemy” every single morning! I actually didn’t want to pray for him!!! He was mean and hateful and constantly attacked us… but, the more we prayed, the easier it was to pray for him. We began to feel the burden lifting until there came days when we never heard from him again. I learned that you cannot let your enemy “steal your joy,” or “steal your life!” You cannot let him take over your thoughts day and night… you cannot let him control you with fear! When he is “your enemy,” he is “God’s enemy!” Finished! “He heard me out of His temple, and my cry did enter His ears!”

Let go, and let God! And, have a great day!
