“We love all the children here at our at Love A Child Children’s Home.” We have watched them grow from infants to children and now adults. Widlene is now 18 and would be in her last year of school if it were not for all the problems here in Haiti. School is still not in session due to the riots, roadblocks, and gangs.

Widelne’s mother came to me when we lived in the mountains when we first moved to Haiti. She came to my gate and said she was dying, and asked if we would take Widlene and her baby sister, Esther, when she died. I asked the lady what her name was? “Madamn Jesula” she replied. “Well,” I said, “Jesula means Jesus is here, and if Jesus is here you’re not gonna die.” We put Madamn Jesula in the hospital and took care of her and then, gave her a job at our Children’s Home, and later built her a house in Miracle Village!

God blessed us with Widlene and her sister, Esther. Widlene is very, very, smart in school and is thinking about what she wants to be. She helps me so much here at the Love A Child Children’s Home, and we depend on her so much. She is sweet, gentle, loving and a wonderful Christian. I’m so glad I answered that “knock on my gate” many years ago.
