WEDDING BELLS WILL BE RINGING, DECEMBER 18TH!
The first time Bobby laid eyes on baby Stephanie, he said, “If her mother doesn’t want her or cannot take care of her, we want her!” We had just taken in George, her brother. He was born to a poor family of six children and in one of the worst places in Haiti! His mother’s health was so bad that she said, “I’m going to leave this baby at the hospital. I hope someone will come and get him (Georges). That’s when “Hurricane Georges” struck. So, we went and got “George” and named him after the hurricane. But soon, their mother was pregnant again, with Stephanie. After Stephanie was about a year old, their mother died, and we took Stephanie in.
If you have never had the “experience” of raising 85 children, let me tell you, “it’s not always up!” There are “downs,” too, but somehow, we make it through. Stephanie was a tough one to raise! Sometimes, she didn’t want to “lister to her mom” and was very stubborn! But love overcame everything!! After she met the man of her dreams and had a baby, she changed.
We are putting her through college at Providence here in Haiti, not far from us. She is taking “Business Administration” and she will be good at it!! Stephanie is extremely dependable, trustworthy, and loves the Lord!!! If you show her “how you want it done,” she will do it exactly as you want it! She doesn’t waste her time…she is constantly working!!! She is a beautiful young woman now, and she and her fiancé are going to get married on December 18th! We have been through a lot with Stephanie, but she is turned around, and she is an amazing young woman!! In Haiti, if a girl comes from an orphanage, there is “little chance” she will ever have a college education. There is less of a chance she will ever get married!!!
It is a “BIG THING” for a young Haitian girl to come from an orphanage, get an education, and get married!!! Maybe some of you know Stephanie very well because you have been here to Haiti! She is sweet, kinda shy, but extremely dependable! We will be the happiest people in Haiti on December 18th!!!! Let the party begin!!! We are going to have a good time at this wedding because this is a miracle, for the Lord to bless Stephanie like this!!
