You may remember the story of Colin… One day, when he was very young, his mother made a big pot of rice. As his whole family of kids finished eating, Colin began to scrape the burned rice from the bottom. (Haitians love this!) As Colin was eating, his father (deep in Voodoo) grabbed his hand and held it in the hot coals! He said, “I’ll teach you how to eat more than the rest!” Colin’s hand was so bad that the neighbor called us. We took him to our clinic and took care of him. Then, I called “Social Services” here in Haiti and made a complaint against his father. They said, “We advise you to take him in,” and we did!

Colin is very hardworking and intelligent! He is so intelligent that he wants to be an engineer! He can do it! His favorite thing is soccer – he is the goalie! It will be interesting to see how the Lord directs his path. We see a child through our eyes… God sees him as “what he will be!”
