When Papa Doc was President of Haiti years ago, the people had a Haitian proverb they would say. “When the mosquito flies you don’t know which one is a male or female.” They were saying, you don’t know who your friend or your enemy is.
Have you ever had someone come to you acting as your friend, smiling, saying how much they love you? But…when they are around other people, they become your enemy. They become a poison, lying, talking against you, and trying to hurt you. Trying to stick a knife in your back.
Real friends are hard to come by. Jesus is a friend who is closer than a brother.
Jesus said, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:20
Men may let us down, but Jesus will never fail us!
