There have been many times in Haiti when we had to resist the “spirit of fear.” There have been times when we were in roadblocks or driving junk vehicles up and down steep mountains, with bad breaks or bad tires… simply because we had no money to get them fixed. And of course, for the last three years, gangs in Haiti.

With the fuel shortage in Haiti, it would be easy to fear, “Oh, we’re out of fuel again and the fuel trucks can’t make it through the gangs.” Then, there’s that fear you fight when you go to the doctor and fear sets in. Will you have good news or bad news?

The Bible says, “For God hath not given us ‘a spirit of fear,’ but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Tim. 1:7

We must realize that “fear” is a spirit and it is not of God. We need to remember that God did not give us this spirit of fear. Instead, He gives us love, power, and a sound mind. Do not fear! God has this!
