Our sweet “Widely” (Widlene) is now 19. She had been with us since her mother, Madamn Jesula, came to the gate of our house in Haiti, where we lived many years ago. Her mother had brought her two young daughters with her to tell us that she “was dying” and wanted us to take her children when she died. We put Madamn Jesula in the hospital and took care of her, and when she was released, we gave her a job and took her and her children in.
Widely is in her last year of school in Haiti. She has many talents but I just discovered she is a “gourmet” cook! She knows how to take basic ingredients, how to make a wonderful dish, and “how to make it look good on a plate!” This is just something “she loves to do!” I am “more than amazed at these kids!!” They always “strive to be the best!” They work hard and love God!
When you invest in lives like these children, you are not only changing their lives, but you are changing Haiti!
