Widlene… a Future Cook!

Widlene is one of our older girls at Love A Child who “loves to cook!” Bobby and I had to come back to the States for my doctor’s appointment because I had an injury to my back – two broken bones. My older girls and boys keep in touch with us. Today, I got a frantic text from Widlene saying that she wanted to go to the meat market (Farmer John’s) to buy meat for the orphanage. I sent a note to Farmer John telling them they could pick up the meat.

A couple hours later, all these pictures came from Widlene showing me what she and the cooks were making… a special soup called “Bouillion!” It has everything in it “but the kitchen sink!” Look at the pictures of all the kids eating and all the happy faces! We are proud of our older children. They have a lot of responsibility, especially when we’re not there.

Widlene is taking “professional cooking” classes in college in Haiti. Even with the gangs in the streets, they still have hope that soon, “Haiti will be safe again.” We love Haiti and especially the children! Let’s be in prayer that the Lord will fight this battle for the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere… Haiti. God bless our wonderful friends and partners.

PS: They also decorated the orphanage early “for Christmas!” (smile)
