It was many years ago when we first traveled to Haiti. We rented a house in the mountains. Further up the mountain road was a poor lady whose husband had left her with two children, a baby named Esther and a little girl, three or four, named Widlene. Madamn Jesula was a poor lady with no job and no way of feeding two children. This poor hungry mother was so thin… she thought she would die. She needed someone to take in her two children when she died. We sent the lady to a doctor who said she was “malnourished.” So we took Madamn Jesula and her two children into the first old orphanage building. That was years ago. Esther, the “baby,” has now graduated from Philo School and works for us. Widlene is now in college to become a chef! Widlene and her sister are devout Christians! Widlene has one more year to go, to get her diploma! God doesn’t see things as we are, He sees what we “can be,” with His help! Thank you, partners!
