Her mother brought Widlene and her sister, Esther, to our gate when we moved to the mountains of Haiti, many years ago. Their father had abandoned them, and she had no job. We took them to our “already over-crowded” orphanage in Mt. Noire, where we had just begun to take in children.
When Widlene finished “Philo,” the 13th year of High School, we sent her to Petionville, Haiti, to become a professional cook! She is now in her “element,” working with her orphanage brothers Dieuferly and Jean Gardy to run the Fresh Foods Restaurant in Fond Parisien, Haiti! Widlene has found her place in life as a Professional Cook!
Someone once said, “If you love what you’re doing, it’s not really a job! It’s your passion and your dream come true!” Thank you, partners, for all you have done!
