Widlene Graduates from “Culinary School” Today!

We are so proud of Widlene! She is graduating in Haiti from “college with a degree in culinary.” Widlene was brought to us when she was five. Her mother, Madamn Jesula, arrived at our gate in “Mt. Noire,” Haiti, with a baby in her arms and little Widlene. Her mother was sick and thought she would die, so she needed to leave her two children with someone.

We sent her mother to the hospital, and when she was well, we took Madamn Jesula and her two daughters to our orphanage. As Widlene grew into her teen years, we noticed that she had a “gift for cooking,” so when she graduated, we sent her to “culinary cooking school!” She now has a degree. She can make the best yummy “shrimp dishes,” and everything. But her gift is “cakes!” She loves making birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and any kind of dessert!!

We wish we could be with her today, but we cannot take a chance of going through “gang territory!” (They would capture us, kill us, or keep us for ransom.) Widlene understands… She just wants to “come home,” and “go to work,” making those delicious desserts! Thank you, partners, for all your love, prayers, and support!
