Widlene is my helper! She’s like my “personal secretary!” She had gone to college to become a “professional cook,” but had to come home after one year, due to gangs. But, that doesn’t stop her. She plans menus for the orphanage each week, helps with the cooking, goes to the market when we are short of food, and is always there as my “right arm!” She is amazing! She never loses her temper, loves everyone, and loves Jesus! And, she always has a smile on her face!

Madamn Jesula, Widlene’s mother, appeared at our gate one morning after we had just moved to Haiti. She thought she was dying and wanted us to take in her two girls. We sent Madamn Jesula to the hospital, paid her bills, gave her a job at our orphanage, and raised her two children with the rest. Widlene “loves” to cook and is always getting Poppie Bobby to taste her latest recipe! We love her!!
