It was about fifteen years ago that a poor mountain man died right before his wife gave birth to a baby boy. He had other children, and his wife had been in poor health. When she gave birth, she died soon after — apparently because of “the childbirth fever,” the Haitians say.

The baby was given to his poor grandfather, who wanted nothing to do with him, so his grandfather instructed his teenage sister to “find an orphanage for him.” Someone told her about Love A Child and she showed up with a tiny baby in her arms.

We named him ‘Bobby,’ so, we have another “Bobby Burnette.” He is 15 years old and in the ninth grade. Bobby is intelligent, gentle, and affectionate. He is a great student and takes pride in what he does, even if it is “mopping the floor!” He doesn’t care, he will always do a good job!! Bobby loves soccer and he wants to be a mechanic. You can usually find him “under the hood of a car” in his spare time. He just loves this stuff. But with his intelligence, he may change his mind in later years. We love both of our “Bobbys!” – Sherry
