The word “Pistache” means “peanut” in Creole. We found Pistache in the mountains of Haiti, during a Mobile Clinic! He was dying of kidney disease. He had Kwashiorkor Malnutrition, and his stomach was horribly swollen! Even though he was always short for his age, he did his best. He was in college when he and his three sisters (from our orphanage) were taken by the gangs! Those four grown children had to watch people being tortured, women raped, and many killed!
Later, with the help of God, they were released! But Pistache never got over “being kidnapped by the gangs.” We sent him to college, but he had emotional problems, and we had to bring him home! He does small jobs for us. He still loves church, and we hope someday God will bless him with a good wife, “in God’s time!” Have a sweet day with Jesus!
