What a wonderful day feeding the hungry. We went to the village of Chambrun, which is about an hour away. We just received some Feed My Starving Children food, so we loaded up the FMSC rice and the big Tilapia fish that we purchased. The mothers were waiting in line, one card for each woman, representing a family. All of a sudden, while Bobby and I were talking about how sweet and “orderly” the people were, they took off in all directions like a “herd” stampeding! We didn’t know what was happening… But we found out that someone forgot to tell them to bring a “sack or a bucket” for their big fish!! Ha! In about a minute, they stampeded back and got in line!! No problem! They sang and praised the Lord, and we began to distribute the food. There is a church in the village and the people are devout Christians!
Chambrun is a village where there is a LOT of Voodoo. The man in charge is a witch doctor, but he helped organize everything! (But as I said, there is a “LOT” of Voodoo in this village.) People from a Voodoo village don’t go to “church.” The “church” must go to them! “You and I” are the church! We just had a wonderful time.
Joel Trimble, “Fre Joel,” went with us. We left a little early, and he and some of our workers stayed behind to take some food to a very poor lady who lived out in the “middle of nowhere.” The good news is that Joel won her to the Lord! Yes, she prayed, and she had tears in her eyes as she accepted Jesus! What a great day this was!!!
We love you so much, partners, and friends, who help to make this possible!!! Bobby and Sherry
