“And There’s a Time to Keep Your Mouth Shut…”
There is a time for everything…sometimes. It is not the time to talk about things. In 2 Kings 20:12, we see that King Hezekiah had been sick and healed. The King of Babylon heard that King Hezekiah had been sick, and sent him a letter and a present. This so “impressed Hezekiah” that he invited the King of Babylon to come to Jerusalem, and he showed the King of Babylon all the precious things that were in the house of the Lord…gold, silver, armor, precious ointments, and “there was nothing in all his dominion that he showed him not.” Big mistake! As soon as he had done this, God sent the Prophet Isaiah to him and told him that because he had done this, “everything shall be carried away into Babylon, and his sons would become eunuchs in the palace of the King of Babylon.” There are things God does for us that we cannot share with everyone. Even so the tongue is a little member (of our body), and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!” James 3:5 – There is a time to keep our mouths shut; even a friend can become an enemy. Have a great day, and praise God for all He has done!
