“When thou was young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.” John 21:18 – He was telling Peter that he would pay the ultimate price for loving Jesus. Peter was later crucified, hanged upside down on the cross because he said he was not “worthy to be crucified” in the same way as Jesus. “Peter, do you love me? Because if you do, it will cost you everything.” Following Jesus and taking up the cross is not easy, but it is “the cost of the cross.” Do you love Jesus?
