“An Ounce of Favor…” (Part One)
I cannot fully comprehend the gift of “divine favor,” but Bobby and I pray for favor every single morning. We have seen “divine favor” open doors, bring in funds for a project, and give us grace in the eyes of our enemies. Education is essential, but if it comes to education verses “divine favor,” divine favor wins, heads up. In chapters one and two of Ruth, we see that Ruth came from Moab. Her husband, brother-in-law and father-in-law had all died. Ruth decides, against all odds, to go to Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, Naomi. With no food or job, she decides to “glean the fallen grain” in a field belonging to a wealthy man named “Boaz,” and it just happens to be the beginning of barley harvest. Boaz, the owner, takes notice of this young widow (probably very beautiful); she was working hard, and taking care of her mother-in-law. Boaz tells his workers, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not. And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them…” Ruth 2:15-16 – Really? Was this “just by chance” that she ends up in the field of one of the richest men in town in the beginning of barley harvest? Begin immediately to pray for divine favor for you, your children, and your grandchildren. Read Part Two tomorrow! Blessings, Sherry
