“Where is Jesus in Your Storm?”
In Mark 4:35-40, we see the story of Jesus and His disciples on a boat in the middle of a storm. Jesus had told them, “Let us pass over unto the other side.” So they took a boat. A great storm arises, but Jesus, the “Master of the Storm,” is fast asleep on a pillow in the back of the boat. The disciples are afraid and they wake Jesus… “Master, carest thou not that we perish?” Then, Jesus rebukes the storm and asks them why they are so fearful.
I was in a small boat in Haiti with a team. We were going to La Gonâve Island for a Mobile Medical Clinic. A storm arose and it became dark. The small boat rocked, and the thunder and lightning were terrifying. We began to be afraid, naturally, but then, we all began singing and praying and soon, we reached the shore. Today, you may be in the middle of a storm, but Jesus, the “Master of the Storms,” is right there in the boat with you! Do not fear. Do not be afraid. He has it “all under control!” Have a great day!
