“What Kind of Bait are You Using?”
“Follow Me and I Will Make You Fishers of Men!”
Bobby always tells the story of his fishing trips. When he was in high school, he would skip school with his English teacher, and they would go fishing! Bobby always says, “There are things to learn about fishing… Don’t hit the side of the boat and scare the fish away, and all fish don’t bite the same bait.” One day, when Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers casting a net. It was Peter and Andrew, his brother. Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” When you are fishing for men, you use different kinds of “bait” for different men. Some people don’t want to go to church, so you have to take the church to them. If you are fishing for men, you must know what kind of “bait” to use. What will attract them to Jesus? And, as Bobby says, “Don’t scare away the fish!” Sometimes, we scare people away. Saint Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the gospel at all times and when necessary use words.” The best way to catch a fish is to “let your light shine” for Jesus! Have a great day, and “go fishing!” Sherry
