“I’m Too Poor To Give…”
When Bobby and I first started our ministry, we began by preaching on the street corners in the States, mostly in Florida. We were so poor that the people would usually bring food to us. My mother, who has passed away, used to bring a gallon of milk for our two children. We used to think, “God, we can’t give. We are poor, ourselves.” What a lie of the devil. Don’t tell that to the widow woman in Luke 21:1-4. The mentality of “not giving because we are poor” doesn’t work with Jesus. When He told this story, He was saying, “It’s not how much you give that determines the sacrifice, but it’s how much you have left over after you give that determines the sacrifice.” That’s the best time to give, and when we do, “The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.” Because, “You are blessed of the Lord, which made Heaven and earth.” Psalm 115:14&15 – When we get to Heaven, let’s all look up the “widow woman” and tell her what this has meant to us.
