“Enough Is Enough…”
I have been reading the book of Joshua… What a great warrior he was, and a great leader. Moses trained him, and when Moses died, the “mantle” fell on Joshua. In the 7th chapter of Joshua, the Israelites went to battle against the King of Ai. It was about 3,000 chosen Israelite warriors against Ai, but the Israelites lost and left with “their tails between their legs.” Joshua is hurt and embarrassed, and he and his warriors fall on the ground, put dust on their heads and lay there all day. After a day of mourning, God says, “Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?”
God was saying, “Stop your whining and crying and stand on your feet like a man.” Then, the Lord showed Joshua what the problem was and told Joshua exactly how to fight Ai, and win.
In Job 40:7, after Job’s great trial, the Lord told Job, “Gird up thy loins now like a man…” (Literally, turn your tunic into pants, and prepare to fight like a man!) There is a time to “weep and cry,” (Ecclesiastes 3) but there is a time to stand up and say, “Enough Is Enough!” And the best way to fight, is to pray, believe and praise God on credit! Sherry
